That would have the E4OD as said earlier in this thread. That tranny was designed for passenger car use and is weak for truck service. The tranny was upgraded sometime around 1995 and is improved some. Mine has been rebuilt twice by Ford, last time about 40K miles ago. It was upgraded at that time and seems to do well now. When the torque converter fails it throws trash through the rest of the tranny as mentioned earlier. Clean fluid and filters are required for the E4OD to have any life at all. Do a search on E4OD and you can read for weeks about this tranny. ray
