Hi Bob, Most cylinders can be rebuilt, about $50 in seals depending on cylinder size. Some cylinders are a odd ball size and will need replaced or cut your own new seals out of leather. The main piston seals are called a Chevron seal and looks like this for a single acting; >>> with double acting looking like; <<< >>>. I use a engine cylinder hone for bore clean up if needed. I use a piece of 1/2" rod to make a extension to reach the bottom of the bore then use a 1/2" drill motor. Clean all parts very well, use a engine ring compressor to help the new seals past the bore threads or into the bore, and use plenty of oil on the seals before installing them into the bore! T_Bone
