Sandblasting

I have just purchased a 1951 8n and I want to restore this tractor as close to original as I can
PROBLEM !!! This is my first attempt at a restoration job.This tractor has recently had a
motor rebuild job and has less than 100 hrs on it.
The paint is in pitiful condition.I don't want to
chance damaging the motor and I don't know if
sandblasting will hurt vital parts or not. Will
sandblasting cause damage to gaskets or any other
parts.What procedures should I follow ??
