All of us want to eventually be able to stand back and say "I restored this from the ground up", but realistically, it just isn't worth it financially. Once it's done, you'll probably be able to sell it for somewhere around half of what you sunk into it. Here's a better plan, save your money for the next five years and then go buy one from someone else who's in the poorhouse. You'll get a good car and have money in the bank. If you want something cheap to tinker with and get your hands dirty, keep working on those old tractors. Cars get expensive very fast.
