TJ, There is a whole laundry list of things you're "supposed" to check when this happens. I don't mess around with all that malarkey, 'cause 9 times out of 10 it is that hitch pump rearward/back under the left step anyway. Since it "tries" to lift with high rpm, it just plain sounds like it's loosing pressure. They run a steel gear in an aluminum housing and they just flat wear out over time. While your changing the fluid and the filter, yank that pump cover paying particular attention to that o-ring on the cover. That's another trouble item; they sometimes blow out. If the o-ring/gasket is okay, I'd just put a pump in 'er first and see what happens. Bet it fixes it. For what it's worth, when the filter plugs on these things, the first thing you notice is a "screamin' sound" or no function when using the power steering Allan
