HELP ASAP!

I AM PURCHASING A USED TRACTOR TODAY THAT HAS BEEN SITTING INSIDE A SHED FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN STARTED OCASIONALLY, BUT NOT REMOVED FROM THE SHED THAT IT SITS IN. I NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY WAS MISSING, SO I ASKED THE CURRENT OWNER IF HE KNEW IF IT WAS A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE GROUND SYSTEM. HE DIDN'T KNOW. I NEED TO DRIVE IT HOME TODAY! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WAY TO TEST IT TO FIND IF IT IS POS OR NEG GROUND?
