Hi all, I have barked up the wrong tree twice in my search for a tractor to fit my needs. I am not partial to any particular brand, but do want to be able to get parts. Here is what I envision: I own about 5 acres, and like doing projects.. remodeling, trenching etc. I would like to get a tractor with a 3-pt hitch and pto so I can use the variety of implements available. I need a front end loader and would like to get forks and a bucket. The thing that is giving me trouble is that I want a backhoe. I would like to be able to dig down 5 ft or so, but all the small tractors I have found either don't have adequate power (Ford 8N w/sherman backhoe) or you can't remove the hoe and have a usable 3-pt (Case 530 backhoe). I am guessing I need somewhere between 40 and 90 hp to run all that I might need, but beyond that, I just don't know where to look. Would something like a JD 3020 or 4020 be the way to go? Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated! Thanks, Darren McLaughlin
