Thanks for the replies folks. When Mobil 1 first came out, they advertised 25,000 mile intervals. I suspect that Detroit put an end to that. I have used Mobil 1 for over fifteen years changing oil every 22,500 and Hastings filters every 7500. So far I have driven an "83 Mazda PU and an "89 Cadillac Broughm 250,000 miles and a "95 GMC with 173,000 and a "97 Lexus with 94,000 and have never been into the engine on any of them. At 250,000 I figure I have gotten my money"s worth. I bought each one used with ~50,000 miles. Now I am glad that the diesel rated is now 5w-40. That is what I will go to in the JD and Kubota. I figure they would go an easy 400 hrs, but I can"t seem to put that many on them in a year. "Standard" Mobil 1 at the Walmart is $18. for 5 qts. "New and Improved" is $23. for 5 qts. What do I really get for the extra $5.00?
