The wife put just under a gallon of gas in my Dodge Cummins (35 gallon tank). I just told her to fill it up WITH DIESEL and it ran just fine. I s'pose it all just depends on what you're trying to do (or not do?).... If you accidentally put a gallon (or so) of gas in your diesel tank (or vice-versa), I'd say "don't sweat it". If this is a general "I wonder what would happen, if....." question, then... There ya go....
