I have a 6ft LandPride finishing mower, the high vacuum model, and pull it with a Ford 600 with regular tread tires. My soil is slightly sandy and the turf holds up pretty well. I cut about 3 acres in maybe 1:45, because of a lot of shrubs and trees. My 6ft is almost too big, would be too big if it was wider, because of the contour of the ground. The wider they are, the more that they scalp the ground. If your lawn is not very flat, you may be disappointed with so large a mower. I don't think the tires will flatten the grass so much that the mower won't cut the grass. I bought mine new on the condition that if I didn't like the cut, I'd take the smaller model. You might try that. Don't know about front mounts. RKS
