Howdy folks, Been a while since I've been in. Talkin to a fella at the store the other day, he mentioned using bondo to seal up those plates I made for the water leak on my JD R. Dad said "Naw, it won't work". The guy though, is one who I trust. He owned an R and has worked on a heck of a lot more tractors than me and dad put together so I am knockin that idea around. What d'ya think? Would it hold? Dad thought the heating up and cooling down of the block would get it broke loose. As I recall, that block doesn't get hot at all when it isn't running out of water so I have my doubts about it coming loose. I have plenty of bondo "in stock" at home lol. Other than that all I can do is have my neighbor look it over and see if he can braze or weld the patches I made so they'll be permanently on there. Have a good 'un. God bless. --old fashioned farmer p.s. Never did send in anything to the weather job in S.D. :)
