I had a similar issue last year. Woman bought 200 bales off the field. Couldn't handle the work so she took half that (I don't deliver). Three weeks later I get the call that she wants to bring it all back for refund because it is heating and dusting up on her. I had kept some hay and I had lost about 10% of mine to a strange dusty mold and had reports from others that same had occurred. I told her to keep track of losses and I would refund her bad bales. Only time this ever happened so I was kind of at a loss. She insisted that ALL the hay come back so I put wagons on the field and told her to have at it. She brought back 20 bales and disappeared. I mailed her a check for 20 bales. I fed out those 20 bales and not a clinker in the bunch. SIX MONTHS later she called and said she had some time and would be bringing the rest of the hay back. I told her the warranty had run out and to find herself a cattle operation and sell them. Never heard from her again and happy about it. I guess you have to warranty hay if you select it and deliver it but if they come to you and pick their own bales it all depends on how nice you want to be. I usually replace bales at the next cutting for my regulars. They like me and my locally grown hay and we keep it friendly.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
