Survival of the species. Yesterday, while driving on the interstate in Memphis, I happened to notice two similiar phenomena(sp). One was a 2 foot tall sycamore tree growing from beside one of those big concrete divider barriers where they are doing constrution. Growing out of asphalt and concrete? The other one is a vine that is growing up through a metal street light pole. The vine grows up throught the hollow pole and comes out the top. The pole has to be 30 feet tall. It does this every year.
