Rimshot, theres no right or wrong answer to this one, its a matter of personal choices. One has the right to do whatever he or she pleases with their own tractor and money but a couple facts remain. One is they will indeed crank over faster with a good 12 volt system/conversion but the other is if originality or the 'Correct Police" matter, then they should remain as original. I will add that on 6 volt systems, I highly recommend the use of 00 Gauge battery and ground and starter cables, cuz if youre starting with only 6 volts, you cant afford to drop any voltage across wimpy battery cables or poor connections or grounds. You pay your money and make your choices as they say John T retired electrical engineer
