I would have not tilled it in first place,put the alfalfa down in the seed tube furrow in those cases. I have my drill setup with 44 coulters on 15ft unit and it is same as discing effect and so I end up with very firm seedbed but enough loose soil for good seed to soil contact. they are spaced 4inches apart,so far it is really working slick,but I am still working on it as when I get done it will have for different seed boxes on it that way I can meter each seperatly so I don't have anymore sifting to the top of some seed when i mix.
