The lights need to be connected so 1/2 of the load is on each battery. That is how the factory did it, and you will have to learn enough about the system to hook your lights up the same way, for it to work. As set up from the factory, there are two power feeds to the light switch... (+) 12-Volts and (-) 12-Volts, one feed from each battery. The 24-Volt split system uses a 24-Volt generator to charge two 12-Volt batteries in series, but the electrical loads are operated off of (+) 12-Volts, and (-) 12 Volts with respect to the tractor's chassis. For the system to work, the electrical load on each battery must be equal. (Oh, yes, and QUIT trying to connect loads to the voltage regulator... You'll let all the $$$ smoke out!)
