Any liquid ballast I use from this point on ( on my 9 tractors) will be either antifreeze and water or windshield washer fluid. Doesn't weigh quite as much but no rim damage. The advantage of liquid is that it puts the center of gravity lower than weight in the center of the wheel. That is perhaps most important on a mowing tractor. On the fronts there is less tendency for wobble at high speed than a solid weight that may not be even close to balanced. I still have 2 that still have calcieum (sp) in them but anytime I have to change one it will come out. Note, these are working tractors not show. :-)
