I went to the napa store in my hometown as a last resort looking for a tie rod and arm for my G-1000. I had even gone to to the Massey Ferguson place (there was no AGCO dealership around)and wound up with the wrong part. The owner of the napa store helped me locate the correct part by going thru a tractor parts catalog. We were able to cross reference it to a White part number. They didn't even charge me for shipping and the part was about 50$ cheaper than the wrong part that the Massey Ferguson dealership had ordered. As for having young kids working in parts stores, the old greasy fingernail guys are great for referencing and cross referencing parts and it is hard to do without them, but when your 2005 General Motors 'Gee Whiz' mobile needs its flux modulator reprogramed, it is probably going to be the kid that grew up playing computer games that will be able to help you out.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
