Sept. 11, 2001 I was on a day off from my job as a locomotive engineer. I could not believe what I was seeing on TV. I had been inactive with my volunteer fire department for 2 years. I went to the firehouse and watched the events on TV with other volunteers, young and old. I can't remember another time when I saw a grown man cry. I requested to be placed on active status. We will not forget. We have not forgotten Pearl either. Just like Pearl Harbor has become ingrained in our history so will 9-11. I write this from my seat at the watchdesk at the greatest job in the world. DCFD Enigine Co. 16. First due to the White House. God Bless America! Dave

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
