I had an Uncle, (Dad"s brother) who was at Pearl, actually Wheeler field, when the Hawaiian Islanes were bombed. While he survived, he tells only of having to identify and help bury many of his comrades. another Uncle, (Mother"s brother) was on Bataan, and earned a Gold star on the War memorial. I can"t even begin to imagine the hell he experienced before he died. I also had an uncle on Guam and a cousin on Iwo Jima. I"m sure they also experienced hell on earth. Unfortunately the earth"s ills were not entirely eradicated, even with a couple of A bombs, so 60 years later our magnificent heros are continually calle upon to do freedom"s work. 9/11/2001 as well as 12/7/1941 must never be forgotten, otherwise our heros, fallen or otherwise have all died in vain, and we deserve not another sacrifice.
