If I was buying a truck simply based on the engine, I would buy a Dodge, point blank. Cummins is the only way to go. I don't call those other things engines. I've been a Ford fanatic all my life, but you won't catch me with a 6.9, 7.3, or 6.0, or any other V-8 diesel. Also goes for the Chev 6.2 and 6.5.
I'm not saying a whole lot for the Dodge truck, just the Cummins. The older trucks are OK. The new models are a lot nicer though. All I can say is that if you're looking for a diesel truck, say Cummins, Cummins, Cummins! And get the 5 or 6 speed. Anwhow, that's what I'd do.......
