Boys I've got to jump in here and get a few votes for the GMC with 6.6 Duramax and Allison Trans.I can't imagine a better combo for farming or cruising. Just got back from a 520 mile trip on Sat grossing 27500 lbs. up over the mountain pass at Snoqualmie Pass holding at 52 miles an hour, and never looked back. This is a 2004 Gmc 2500HD ext cab long box and tandem dual goosneck trailer. Was running with one other Duramax and 3 Cummins. No doubt about the cummins motor but I believe the rest of the story gives an edge to the GM. Allan, have you compared the frame and driveline on the Gm with the others? There is some major difference between the Gm and the rest of the "heavy duty" trucks and the drive in the GM has placed first in most of the comparisons done in the last three years. Plus now 2006 Duramax has beefed to 600+ lbs foot torque and 360 Hp. What other trans. is gonna stand up behind these new more powerful motors? They put allison trans in the cement delivery trucks for a reason, they last! At least give "em a look . My 2 coppers. Migraine
