Allan - I never have any problems here in the SE corner! Brought a trailer over from Missouri last year (18' flat bed - wish I would a kept it), told the courthouse what I had and what I wanted - she just printed it out and charged me $18 (wasn't a new trailer). I've licensed 3 trailers in the past year, 2 from out-o-state, with no problems. Only thing I don't like is them stupid full-size plates we now have. I guess I'm not understanding the "tax everything you breathe", either! I don't pay any tax (sales or property) on any of the equipment I have ('course it ain't NEW either!), and even have two old pickups that aren't tagged (they don't leave the farm). Our county tax rate is 5.5% (in town it's 7% because of the stupid prison). My property tax on the 101 acres (2000 sqft house, 30x16 shop, outhouse, 30x15 quonset, 15x30 shed, 10x12 shed) will be $1050 next year. Seen a LOT worse conditions in other states!

In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
