RKN, thanks for the suggestions. I'm reasonably sure that the float is intact but I'll check it again. I did have a trash problem at first but cured it by cleaning fuel tank & installing a second inline fuel filter. My R40 is about a 1970 model, according to the Ditch Witch people. Are the Wisconsin Gas & the Continental F-163 engines the same? I thought I'd read that the 2 companies had merged. I really need to get this thing running. Thanks, Gary Baton Rouge
