On the energy cell, Lanova was the man given credit for it, Buda was the first to use it and of course that is the brand of engine used in the WD-45 diesel. There is more machine work in a head with a precombustion chamber than a direct injection engine. A major advantage of the Lanova design was they took a lot of pressure off the crankshaft. If you study the developement of the diesel most of the people that used the precombustion chamber (Lanova) did not have one main bearing on each side of the connecting rod. The Lanova chamber helped make this possiable. All the major brands of farm tractors used a Lanova chamber except Ford & John Deere. IH got in the act with the 350 diesel which was a G model Continental engine. Questions?
