I did a lot of research on the net about a year ago when I installed one in my Dodge CTD. A Brake Smart controller is supposedly the best but it is very expensive (about $300 with the installation kit). I ended up buying a Tekonsha Prodigy which is Tekonsha's top of the line (or at least it used to be). The Prodigy is about $100. If your pickup has the factory tow package and you get the correct harness with the controller then it is just a plug in and go deal.
