If you are using the compression gauge correctly, and actually have 0 compression, it has to be the valves hanging. Take the valve cover off, and turn it over. You should see the rocker arms moving up and down. Maybe you don"t have the pushrods seated against the cam followers (lifters). Is there a chance that your gauge is no good? Did you just try to start it?
