If you will use a chain as a substitute for the top link and control the height with the three point lift arms only you will have a brush mower that can float upward if the skids come in contact with the ground. I have considered mounting detachable wheels parallel to the skid plates but at position where these wheels would come in contact with the ground before the skids. In doing so I would adjust the mower to where these wheels would only come in contact with the ground when I encounter high spots thus if I turn on the level nothing would happen and I would not have to have caster wheels. This should eliminate scrapes and bare spots caused by the skid plates.
