$1000 for a running 8N is usually a decent price. The real question is how much are you looking forward to doing work on it? You already know from the smoke that an overhaul is in your future. The 2N in this picture is one I bought last week for $600. It doesn't run, but the engine is not stuck. I think I can get it running with a carb rebuild, some new wires and a tune up kit. But I might wind up with the same tractor you have...i.e. one that smokes. We'll see.
