I would think that if the truck is out of warranty then it doesnt matter what transfluid you use, if it is petro-based fluid then buy that. You may have to do some research on the coolant and see what additives are in it and be compatable with the "Gold stuff" I have a Polaris 4 wheeler and the Polaris clowns say in the manual "Only Polaris Synthetic" well I put in Mobil 1 0W-30, runs fine since the oil change. Ford I think just wants your money.....and trys to scare you into buying their expensive oil.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
