Yes Sir, Fer Sure. Shorted batteries stop the little guys cold in their tracks. I always just yank the battery on an unknown machine and use the adaptor. I think the Dell laptops are the worst about this oddity. Darned things will oftentimes loose their BIOS and folks get impatient, throw 'em away or sell for a few cents on the dollar. Takes a few seconds for 'em to run their parameters to regain their "sea legs" and away they go again. :>) Allan
