With Ford, 3000, 4000, 5000, 3600, 4100, 4600, 5600, 36/3910, 4610, 5610. Even look at 3930 and 4630. The first are more basic, and when you get to the 10's you get more options with transmissions, FWD, and faster hydraulics. At this point there probably isn't much price spread on the more basic models. However, if hydraulic capacity isn't a big concern, the 4000 would be my first pick. Pound for pound, and dollar for dollar, I think it's the best performing tractor Ford ever built. I'm talking the early 70's 4000. From my own perspective I would not be a big fan of the 800 series through to the early 4000 series up to '65. I just think them dated, and not near the tractor of the later ones. Good luck. Rod
