I would say that the big question is not "what would it cost to repait the transmission" since if it is a syncro, that is unlikely. The "Big" question is: "what is the condition of the engine and the lpg fuel system"? LPG tractors have a bit more power than gas tractors and the fuel for them is a lot cheaper (usually) than anything else you can run. If the tractor starts and runs well, it is a really cheap 95 hotse tractor, and a John Deere to boot! LPG has lost a lot of popularity over the past decades since they were last made and sold, but so far as I know, lpg prices are WAY better than Diesel of Gasoline. THOSE two fuels are the "price gouge" darlings of the oil industry right now. I would check LPG fuel prices and if they are even half of what the other fuels cost, the decision becomes apparant. I wish someone in MY area would sell ME an lpg 4020 for $3000.
