What are you calling normal carb things? I would remove carb and inspect needle and seat and also check the float angle. Most usually the float lever should be level with the bowl win needle is seated in the seat or in the closed position. After that if every thing looks good put carb back together and screw adjustment screws in and turn back out 2 to 2 1/2 turns start the engine and let it warm up with the throttle at idle position turn idle screw in slowly until engine begins to run rough and turn out slowly only far enough to allow engine to smooth out. Then advance to full throttle and adjust the main jet adjustment screw in the same manner. This is the procedure I use and it always works for me. Hope this helps.....River Bottom Farmer
