alfalfa growing

checked the alfalfa today.. 2-1/2, 3 inches tall.. not too bad I thought.. 69 and wet here in lapaz Indiana.. how is the hay in your neck of the woods? also.. farmer down the road ssaid to spead some mulch(two year old sh!t) on my alfalfa right after first cutting.. would that work? it's pretty nice stuff, was real sloppy but like dirt now. THANKS! Tim
