Never did use one but I don't think they were too good. If it has a roller at the back of the pick up fingers that compresses the hay as it enters the bale chamber it is a closed throat baler that would not start bales too well if the hay was the least bit green or damp. Also it would not pack the hay as tight as later balers. The F, G, and H balers are similar in that they have an open throat that starts bales better when adjusted right. I did have one of these. I now have an I model which is a big improvement over the H series. Packs hay tighter and the Super I does still better. I think $1200 is too much but I don't know what they sell for. I would check the condition of the belts and chains on whatever baler you look at. If at all possible see the baler hooked up and running. The I baler I have now was a creampuff that obviously had been stored inside. When I got it home and hooked to the tractor I found it had a bad bearing and main drive roller. Dealer did provide parts, but I had the privilege of doing the work. KEH
