Ray I've seen silicone put on freeze plugs prior to installation that works good,but if you have a lot of erosion of metal due to rust,you might try puting some JB weld in freeze plug hole and insert freeze plug. Seems like JB weld is good for everything else,be worth a try.I repaired a bushhog wing wheel hub that bearing had wallowed out and its holding. later gman
