Sounds to me like you will be testing out that warranty. Grey would say to me that you have water in the oil. Would guess a group of seals in the pump are bad. Shiny metal flakes would be something disentigrated inside or is starting to. You could try running another 10 or 20 hours but don't let the warranty lapse without getting a documented complaint. One thing did you keep this pressure washer in a heated building all winter? If not the waranty may be void. JM2CW jt
