I just wanted to get some opinions on how long things like points, plugs, condensers, rotors, distributor caps, plug wires, coils, etc. can be expected to last on average. I had all of these replaced on my tractor almost 2 years ago when I bought my MF65 Gas tractor. The tractor still starts first crank every time, idles perfectly, and runs well. But I have to admit I have always been a maintenance fanatic when it comes to my vehicles, lawn equipment, etc. So I am just itching to tune up my tractor. I know I will not because I have seen to many people on this board tune up their tractor only to find out it will not start or run well when they finish. I know the old saying, If it aint broke don't fix it, but at what point should i look at replacing those items on my tractor. Should I wait until it starts running bad or is there some time frame at which I should go ahead and take that distributor cap off and start replacing things. Thanks for all opinions.
