If it ain't broke.......but then PM is the life of the engine. If it were me...and I'm no professional by any stretch of the imagination...I'd let things like points and condenser, cap and rotor slide untill I thought it was affecting the running. The main thing in my mind is keeping the oil fresh, and changing air and fuel filters regularly. Also...if you don't use the tractor much in the winter, at least crank it a couple of times a month and run it for a little while. This will keep the fuel in the carb bowl from turning to varnish and giving problems. If its gonna sit for the winter, then pour some fuel stabilizer in there and it will help too. Of course....you can still tell the wife you have to work on the tractor....if your only hidin' in the shop for a couple of hours! :-)
