I have converted both tractors and autos. It is simpler to convert using a one wire alternator but the results on tractors is not as good as with a conventional alternator and the associated circuitry. Tractors do not get driven as frequently as cars and these longer periods of unuse coupled with the malfunctioning diodes used in the one wire alternator permit the battery to drain. This can be avoided by using a simple battery disconnect. Most people find this easier than altering the wiring required to install a full circuit associated with a conventional alternator system. All of this is achieveable with patience and persistance. Purist frown on going away from the original 6 volt system but I have always had better results after the conversion. People do not stop to realize that in most cases they are working with "tired" equipment. The 12 volt system kind of acts like a pacemaker. I do not have schematics for the conversion nor your tractor but I would be willing to assist if your urgency is not too great.
