The vertical pin should come right out with a couple of good hammer raps, it looks to be rusted in place(replace with longer pin if needed). Only thing thats different on the 1000 series masseys is that the pin is vertical instead of horizontal like most 3 point top links. You may have to use a clevis when hooking up your chain, that is what I had to do when I barrowed my neighbors Vicon disc mower. What will really make you scratch your head is try to hook up a post hole digger. One Last thing, dont mess with the horizontal pin that is bolted to the tractor.
