Bret, Congrats and thanks for the report. If the dealer insisted it uses a 6 volt coil and it indeed has around 1.5 ohms, it certainly must have an external ballast resistor or a resistive wire link or even a thermistor somewhere upstream after the switch and ahead of that coil. Otherwise, the coil would draw something like 8 amps versus the more normal 4 amps and it would run very hot plus the points will burn up prematurely. She certainly will throw a good hot spark in the meantime however lol. Best wishes John T
