i would buy the biggest you can afford. i have the 12 i really like it. what i did was had a weld shop weld a piece of heavy channel between the frame rails on the uprights. then i mounted the winch on the that. its out of the way, then you mount the control box right on the side of the uprights, i also had a chain box made between the frame rails below that. you could up 2 of them one on each side of the jack. it really works good. you then put a battery in one of the boxes. then i made a lead from the pickup to the trailer so when i plug the trailer in i just pug in the lead also so i always keep the battery charged an when i am winching i am running off the battery in the trailer an the pickup. works great. my lead is made out of welding lead. just my 2 cents worth an then some johndeeregene
