Ya I know it ain't on a tractor, but I've got a Kohler 19 hp two cylinder engine mounted on a log splitter to run the pump. Question: A large hot wire comes from the starter/generator on the engine to one side of the solenoid. From the other side of the solenoid the big wire goes to the battery. I got this. The small wire from the solenoid goes to the key switch that activates the solenoid just like on an old M. Now, the motor has a voltage regulator with a wire coming from it and another wire coming from under the coil and these two come out together with a female plug on them. One would have to go to the switch to supply power to the coil, plugs, etc. correct? Now for the other wire from the regulator. would it be for a amp guage or something? Any opinions would help. Thanks in advance, Harley
