The yanmar 1700 and lower were thermosyphon like the old JD's.. 2000 and up had a water pump. If it were me.. I'd look for a 3digit model unit.. thought not a 177. The 3 digit are domestic USA units.. and the 4 digit as well as the 177 and 27X units are grey market, and have a bit harder time getting repair parts. Hit the tractorbynet yanmar forum for lots of info. The ym240 and 195would be a great size for that land. They have good gear choices, and are really a very advanced little tractor. My 1700 was the 2 cyl job.. the 3 cyl units sounded much smoother.. but the 2 cyls lugg really nicely. They would not be my first choice of a plowing tractor due to lack of draft control, and lower weight per hp than many domestic 'old iron' tractors.. like an 8n or 9n or 2n.. etc. 12hp.. what is this? an 1100? Beware.. the very small untis were not setup for 3pt hitch..( 2pt hitch.. for tilling.. great tiller tractors.. ) though you can easilly mod them to add the toplink bracket... Soundguy

The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
