My father who is 85 underwent by-pass surgery this past Wed. After the surgery and while getting him off the pump and back to his own heart he had trouble. Blood pressure got very low and o2 level in the blood dropped very low. We thought we might loose him but as the doctor put it, he made an unexplained turn around( I call it power of prayer) and did fine. Except, as he began to come out of the anesthesia he said he could not see and appeared to be totally blind. Doctors say they cannot explain it. CT scan and MRI have ruled out a stroke. Any one have any experience with a simular situation. My father now can see some images such as a hand placed within in a couple inches of his eyes.We hope this will continue to improve, as this was a person that had driven to town to have coffee with his friends the day before surgery. Just wondering what lays ahead.
