Steve, Your father possibly suffered from ischemic damage to his reina"s, (optic nerve in the back of the eye), during the low flow state of his hypotension, (low BP), complicating his CABG. Patients this age are generally very fragile with all forms of surgery, especially coronary artery bypass grafting. Unfortunately, these events are described complications of this procedure, although most often they can present as strokes. The Good news, is that this could improve with time, in some cases, and only time will tell... Also, it"s up to the Great Physician upstairs.
