Hey John, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I checked what books I've got and the only injectors showing as being used in a 2-71 are 71N5, N55, 60, and 70. The only place I found the N65's showing as being used were with the 4 valve heads on the other 71 series engines that were using advanced cam timing. In these engines the N65 had a setting of 1.484.---- Most of the books I've got are older, except for the Field Service data book which is only a few years old. I would have thought one of them would have showed me something but I may have missed it, it may fall in a time frame I don't have covered, or someone may have used different injectors in yours before you got it trying to gain a few more HP. Beyond that I can't tell you anything else except I'll have to make a call and find out. If you've got the serial number off the engine I can use that to find out exactly what injector was used in it from the factory and pretty much anything else you want to know. Sorry I couldn't have been more help right off. There are just so many different combinations it's impossible to remember them all so I don't even try, I just know where the stuff is in the books and know who to call if it isn't there. If you can get me the serial number I can find out just about anything you need to know. Just let me know.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
