I've lost 2 dogs to canine cancer in the past 12 years, A doberman and a chow. This past week I had my 8 year old doberman to the vet's for $400.00 worth of surgery to remove a large lump on her right shoulder. I'm not sure what is going on because none of these dogs ever had the chemical flea treatments or 'exotic' medications. Only distemper and rabies vaccines. I wouldn't attribute this to the feeds, as I work for a petfood manufacturer and I see on a daily basis the ingredients that go into these feeds and the care that is taken in production and packaging. IMHO I would likely be more inclined to eat the petfoods that I see made before I would want to eat some of the stuff that passes for human food from the foods industry I used to work in. I sometimes wonder if some of these 'people' health issues that pets are developing are attributed to the "people food" that we slip to the animals from our supper table
